Brigid Kemmerer knows what's she's done. If this were an episode of Friends, I'd have put this book in the freezer for making me feel things.
Picking up where we left off in Warrior Princess Assassin with the story of Ky, Jory, and Asher and ... wow there's still a lot going on.
Where does everything stand with the alliance? What's going on with all things magic? What's going on with the Draeg? What about their relationships? What is the deal with Dane? It's a LOT of action. A lot of moving parts. And it is done MASTERFULLY.
Then we get so much more! New characters to know and love. New characters to know and LOATHE. Oh, the world building in this installment is JUICY and I kept having to pick my jaw up off the floor.
Where this book really shines though is in the character development and in the relationships among the main three. I kept gasping, blushing, and going "OH!" during the softer moments when they were able to drop the pretenses and just be real with each other. It was truly beautiful to see those relationships develop.
And then the ending of the book left me going BRIGIIIIIIIID! and tapping my foot anxiously awaiting the next book. The cliffiest of cliff hangers, to be certain.
