The Blood Bloom’s Secret was definitely not what I expected when I started reading it but I really enjoyed the direction the story took!
The abandoned greenhouse immediately pulled me into the story and created the perfect mysterious atmosphere. I loved the supernatural idea of a strange flower that doesn’t create desire but instead brings hidden feelings, fears and wants to the surface. It was such an unusual and fascinating concept.
I also really enjoyed Iris and Jax together. Their chemistry was strong from the beginning but their playful teasing and funny conversations made their connection even better. Jax was patient, respectful and never made Iris feel ashamed of the things she wanted to explore. I especially appreciated how the story handled trust, consent, boundaries and self-discovery.
This book is extremely spicy and I do mean extremely! It explores several different kinks and fantasies, so I strongly recommend reading the content warnings before jumping in. This definitely won’t be for everyone but I enjoyed watching Iris become more comfortable expressing her desires and asking for what she wanted without judging herself.
Overall, this was a bold, surprising and very adventurous supernatural read that kept me entertained from beginning to end. It also left me with plenty of unanswered questions, so now I really need to know what happens next!
