I am so unbelievably sad that this series is officially over for me, but am so grateful to have had it at all. I’m simply in love with every single character in this trilogy, the plot, the world building and the found family.
Elyria and Cedric were generational enemies, spanning thousands and thousands of years. Forbidden, yet prophetic. They were inevitable and infallible. Getting to read & experience all aspects of their personal growth & journey together was a gift and an adventure I will always hold with me.
As probably intended, Elyria, our FMC, was my absolute favorite. Her character arch started riddled with self destructiveness fueled by grief and blossomed into everything this carefully immersive written world needed.
Cedric, the down bad MMC, was just that. He fell fast and hard but honestly, how could he not? Previously painted as the enemy, Elyria flew into his life and changed literally everything. Starting off as sheltered and naive, this created such vast growth for his character.
My loving Elyria was instant, whereas Cedric slowly creeped up through the first two books & then completely pulled me under in this last one. As for everyone else? If you asked me who my favorite “side” character was, I don’t think I’d be able to choose as easily. I connected and cared for them all in different ways. Each one just as important as the other. However, one is lingering the most & that is Nox. I didn’t know how I felt about them for a while because of their elusiveness. The mystery of them made suspicions arise. But I ended up loving them & wishing for their HEA all the same.
To sum this long review up, I loved every aspect of this series end installment. Gretchen wrote a beautiful ending filled with adventure, adversity, wholesomeness and a whole lot of emotion. I laughed, I cried and my heart feels contentment having finished.
This is a 5 ⭐️ series without a doubt. And unless you’ve read it and already know, you’ll just have to take my word for it when I say that this will be your new favorite. It’s definitely mine. So good & needs to be read by every reader who loves fantasy/Romantasy.
