I truly loved this story. So so much! β€οΈβπ₯I always enjoy reading Arthurian-inspired tales, and The Once and Future Queen was such a special one. One of the things I loved most was that Guinevere was the main character and centerpiece of it all. There were so many secrets, and I was left wondering about so many things π
The whole concept of this story was so incredible and unique: the mix of Vera from the modern era, Guinevere's memories from the past, and Arthur and his knights trying to save their magic and kingdom in their own time. I was hooked from the very first line!
Arthur was so lovable. I mean, he's the perfect king! But beyond the obvious, he was so invested in keeping his wife happy and content (though, in my opinion, he went a bit too far, but still... I love him), and he was hurting so badly that I really felt sorry for him. That's why I adored the epilogue and his POV. That explained A LOT of things, situations, and mixed feelings. I hope the sequel has more of his POVs π
And Lancelot was the best friend anyone could ask for! And I'm obsessed with his secret (IYKYK). It fit really well and felt so good. Loved that for him.
Then poor Vera, she was a true ghost, living without even being seen, and just when she found some happiness, BANG! Not anymore... Gosh, that was so sad... Now at least she has a lot of real friends.
I can't wait to see how this story continues. I have a few theories, but honestly, I have no idea how this whole thing will unfold! Not only that, but I'm obsessed with all the characters and really looking forward to seeing them again soon! π
