I really enjoyed Mia and Adam's accidental pregnancy baseball romance.
Mia is a legit boss babe, and I love her. She's poured everything into building her bar and restaurant into the best spot in Boston, and she hasn't met anyone worth making time for... until Adam. At first, she thinks he's way too serious (read: boring), but after working together on his sister's engagement party, she quickly realizes he's sneaky funny, incredibly sweet, and exactly what she needs. I also really appreciated that becoming Adam's girlfriend never became Mia's entire personality. Sure, she'll learn a few baseball rules for him, but she doesn't suddenly transform into a stats queen.
And Adam? PERFECTION. He's the perfect balance of serious and playful. He plans thoughtful, unique dates but is just as happy spending a quiet night at home together. He carries childhood trauma, but he's done the work in therapy to make sure it doesn't completely define him. He's a caring brother, a loyal friend, and wholeheartedly supports Mia's career ambitions. In other words, Adam is absolute husband material.
This may be one of my favorite accidental pregnancy romances ever—a trope I don't think is easy to get right. I loved that the pregnancy wasn't the result of a one-night stand but happened after Mia and Adam had already built a committed relationship, even if it was still in its early stages. Mia is given the space to decide what she wants for her future, both personally and professionally, while Adam proves himself to be the dream partner every step of the way. He puts Mia and their relationship first, and honestly? If only every man reacted like Adam.
This is the fourth book in the Boston Blues series and might just be my favorite yet.
