I am enjoying this series and thought this had a pretty good balance of resolving the conflict between Aurora and Atticus whilst moving forward with the Ambrose plot. I do love a grovel and Atticus was all in; the letters were very sweet and you could tell he was really trying. I love his growing bond with Ellie too.
The car scene took me out a little as I was surprised at Aurora going to those lengths as it seemed dangerously petty in the middle of what was happening with Ambrose. As it was from Atticus' POV I found it a little frustrating as he didn't lie to her but also didn't even really try and explain his side. As much as he had a lot to apologise for at the end of book one, I didn't think that this was in the same league. I appreciated Aurora realising she had gone too far though. I was ready for the gear change by the time the confetti entered the scene, although I think Sev's reaction to Atticus and the cake may be one of my favourite parts. And Chekov's canon is still in play...
Ambrose 100% gives super villain vibes; the suspense levels were high trying to figure out what he knew every time he was around. Ambrose gets some pretty decent page time and despite him being awful, I am looking forward to more of his backstory. He is at the centre of some pretty big reveals and clearly has more up his sleeve. There is a lot going on in the final few chapters and I don't know who is worst off; Elijah was already on his last nerve with doubts (I think he is really going to struggle in book three), Sev is going to go full unhinged mode and Atticus and Aurora are going to blame themselves. There is definitely a lot to be resolved before Aurora and her guys get their HEA!

3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read
