Tropes: Rescue romance → he literally saves her first Forced proximity when the inn floods He falls first / harder / immediately Small-town romance with lovable meddling locals Protective hero who respects her strength Fresh start heroine rebuilding her life Fish out of water city girl in cozy Peachwood Grove Nickname as intimacy marker (“firecracker”) Found family through the fire crew Fast burn romance with emotional depth
I was fortunate to get an early listen to Embers of Fate. Embers of Fate is the first story in the Blazing Hearts Short Romance Series. Ember Harper's the FMC, an event planner who wrecks her car at the beginning of the story. Captain Ryan McCallister is the MMC; he's a fire captain who came to Ember's aid when she crashed her car.
Embers of Fate is a short but really charming romance. I had a great time listening to Ryan and Ember's love story. Without a doubt, instalove and some heat were involved. Ryan’s character was great—he was loving and always had Ember’s back, no matter what.
Great for fans of a hero who's all about protection and falls head over heels.
This audiobook was really good. It was done in duet style, and that's always a blast. I totally fell for the characters because of the narrators, who made the story come alive.
