ARC REVIEW
Sweet Surrender by @ bellamatthews.author
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️¼ (4.25/5)
Ashton and Jamie kept me on my toes the entire time — accidental pregnancy, a surprise baby (not the same one), family drama, sibling complications, and a suspense thread that left me questioning my sanity (in a good way). Honestly, I’m still impressed they found time to fall in love in the middle of all that chaos — but fall in love they absolutely did.
Despite Ashton’s repeated attempts to push him away, Jamie shows up anyway and makes it very clear how deep his feelings run — for her and for baby Kyrie. His reaction to the pregnancy reveal was exactly what I wanted: supportive, steady, and all-in. This man does not do halfway emotions. He wears his heart on his sleeve with Ashton, and I ate it up.
It was genuinely heartwarming to watch Ashton expand her support system beyond her ride-or-die best friend, Finn, and into the rest of Jamie’s family. I loved seeing her build real friendships with Lexie and Dillon from the earlier books. We need more positive female friendships on page—and more healthy platonic male-female friendships, too. Please let the “friend zone” concept die a quiet, overdue death.
This entire series has been hit after hit, and Sweet Surrender is no exception. I’ll be over here patiently (not patiently) waiting for the Sweet Oblivion couple announcement.
