Airick is a Morazir. That means he was picked as a child by the Veynari (a galaxy-wide military regime with complete power over the galaxies) to be trained as a super soldier. Using the Morazirs for their strength, the Veynari have gained an iron grip on nearly all aspects of life. Airick is sent on a mission to eradicate a planet called Ed'un. While waiting for orders, he sees a craft crash into Ed'un. Thinking its the beings that killed his parents, he pursues. Only to find a sad human girl with no real will to live. He should kill her, per Verynari rules. But something stays his hand. He must figure out whether he should help her, or turn her over. After spending days and nights together, learning about each other, and finding common ground, Airick must choose between the peace he has found in the presence of this human or if his oaths to the Veynari are more important him.
This was so freaking fun, guys. An alien and a human stuck on an abandoned planet together, just the two of them?! Yes!! I was like, sign me right on up 🤣 I could not put this down. Never have I yearned for an alien so bad. I literally had to explain to my husband what this book is about because it was just so interesting. Dual-POV. A giant, touch-starved Alien MMC and a tiny, sad girl whos lost everything. A bond with a cyborg animal. Essentially a radioactive planet thats trying to kill them every step of the way. An internal war between what we want desperately and what we've promised. And also intergalactic control?! For a debut, this is outstanding. Well, its outstanding, period. This book can stand right alongside the greats. It has all the right elements. Good writing, amazing world building, very unique plot, a tension-filled and very yearn-worthy romance, and just an all around fun, good time. The side characters are also chefs kiss.
The world is described so vividly I could picture it like a film. And the writing is super easy to follow. I felt like i was right there with them, on the edge of my seat!! This is definitely going in my favorites of the year list. Literally cant wait to see what happens next!!
