I have read every one of Jessica Jude’s books and let me just say- this is the best one yet! I was curious about Vivienne just from the small amount she was talked about in Joker’s Endgame but this was better than I ever could have imagined. I love men who yearn and a good slow burn, and this was a SLOOOOWWWWW BURN! The way she and Cassian vacillated between fighting their feelings and “fuck it” was beyond delicious. There were a few times I had to set the book down, pace around, and talk to myself, especially because I wanted to smack Cass upside the head for how little he thought of himself.
I want to know more about Briar and how she’s fitting into the friend group and as well as what happened with Finn and Marlowe. I’m also DYING to know what this deal with the devil that is the Wilson patriarch is that he’s holding over the group’s heads. And the drama surrounding the truth of what happened with Cassian’s mom was so intense I literally was DMing the author about it!
I’m so grateful to have been an ARC reader for all of Jessica’s books and cannot wait for the next in this series. I will be first in line for sign ups!
