Thank you Must Love Audio, Lyric Audiobooks & Team Corinne Michales for the gifted audiobook. All opinions are my own.
Oh my freaking goodness! I’ve seen Corinne Michaels’ name bandied about in these here parts before, but this is my very first introduction to her work, and I could NOT have loved it more??!! 🤩 Like, a new favorite western/cowboy series has entered the chat?? 👀
I HAVE to start with the banter/dialogue. I was in absolute stitches throughout so much of this book. The quick-witted back and forth between these two was everything. I was living for every interaction between the two of them.
Their fake dating might be my favorite fake dating ever ?? (And that’s really saying something because I looooove fake dating!). Their bumbling through it all was absolutely hilarious, but when those feeling became more than fake? 🥺
It wasn’t all laughs, though. There were also many an emotional moment, whether to do with the fleeting feeling of their relationship, past family trauma, working through their own personal struggles; I definitely got choked up more than a few times.
And the spiiiiiiice…😮💨 My goodness. Ares + Harper = 🔥🙌
This being book 2, I will deeeeeffffinitely being going back to pick up book 1 prior to the release of book 3, as I am so ready to see this secret relationship , between two members from feuding families? 👀 I mean: gimme! 😩
Audiobook notes: DUET Narration! As if I didn’t already LOVE Jason Clarke and Desireé Ketchum before, they absolutely knocked it out of the park with their performances in this one. Their line delivery, from the amazing banter to the more emotional heart wrenching moments, I was completely transfixed. I cannot recommend the audio more! 🙌 (Special shout out to Jason on the bonus section at the end; he truly had me sobbing in the car. 😭)
