This book felt like a warm hug from your grandma in romance form- if that makes sense to anyone but me. It starts with the sweetest meet-cute in Chicago that turns into the most heartbreaking missed connection.
Fast forward 3 years and Daisy has the worst day ever where she loses her home, her job and her sister all in one day. I have to say she handles all these things better than I would have. She is able to keep going due to constant dance parties and a sunny outlook through it all.
When she gets to Colorado to take care of her niece she instead finds her missed connection Ty already doing a bang up job helping the 8 year old through her grief. Ty is every steady, loving, incredible do-it-all man you have ever met and wondered how he does it. He seems like the proof of how humans have an endless capacity to love.
This book has excellent small town vibes with a great supporting cast of literal characters. By the end you will want to spend a weekend in Linwood during summer too. Despite being about so much grief this book has so much hope you can't help but smile through your tears. You will feel the lows Daisy goes through, but you will also feel the sunshine on each page. I highly recommend reading this book with a beer in your hand and your cowboy boots propped up on a porch railing watching the sunset for maximum enjoyment.
