Tessa and Liam’s single dad x nanny romance is basically a warm hug in book form. Low angst, soft slow burn, and sweet family moments made this one impossible not to love. The found-family vibes are strong, and Liam’s spunky tween daughter Ruthie completely stole my heart.
I immediately connected with Tessa’s eldest sister energy. She is the caretaker — the one her siblings turn to when they need help. She brings that same warmth to her job as Ruthie’s nanny, acting more like a mother figure. The relationship between Tessa and Ruthie feels authentic and genuinely heartwarming.
And Liam. Mr. Sunshine. I love how focused he is on Ruthie and being the best dad he can be; they have the kind of father-daughter relationship that girls dream of. It broke my heart when he started to feel like maybe he wasn’t enough for her. He is perfect.
I love that Tessa and Liam take their time together. They put Ruthie first, moving slowly to make sure what they’re building is real. And it absolutely is. Tessa accepted a mediocre relationship with her ex when she deserves a man who truly values her — a man like Liam.
This book is a standout in a stellar series. I cannot wait to see what Cassandra Moll writes next!
