I am not too fond of age gaps, but because I listened to the first book by the same author, I thought: Give it a chance! I’m glad I did.
As for the previous book, both narrators did an awesome job.
The story itself is not new, but the execution is satisfying. Nick, like Michael, is treated with honour and respect. They love and take care of people.
One thing that kinda made me pause was how... computer illiterate most people were. Michael is my age, Nick is younger, yet when Alexis talked about how network security worked without going into details- just firewall- they understood nothing. I get that not everyone in my generation is good with IT, but is this bad?
There is no third-act breakup, but while in the previous book both characters communicated, here it’s more Alexis telling Nick, “that’s how it will be”, him trying to resist before admitting defeat and nodding along.
