A twist on the guard/royal trope

Book: The Flame in the Frost by Olivia Boothe

I absolutely ate up The Flame in the Frost by Olivia Boothe and am already salivating for book 2! Sylvi has finally earned her place as Captain of the royal guard and it turns out her friendship with the Prince is even more complicated than either believed. Their feelings for one another are put to the test through the push and pull of duty and prophecy.
I love a good guard/royal forbidden love trope and I loved even more how Olivia twisted that trope to where our FMC was the guard.
The Flame in the Frost is great for readers who enjoy fae romantasy and dark fantasy with tension, yearning and forbidden love.
