I can’t say much without spoiling the whole thing for you, but Veiled in Fog proves that just because a story is short doesn’t mean that it can’t be poignant. It is a touching story that gives you both feelings of sadness and happiness. The book listing shows that it is for teens, ages 13-18, and I would agree with that although it is absolutely for adults too.
