Tangled Up in Knots by Ari Wright

A really cute Rapunzel/Tangled retelling with an omegaverse twist.
This time, the one trapped in the tower is Violet, who has spent her entire life being brutally experimented on in an attempt to transform her from a beta into an omega. Considering everything she's endured, it's honestly a miracle that she's still such a sweet, sunny person. She hates upsetting anyone, fiercely protects the people she loves (watch out for that frying pan!), and immediately had me rooting for her happiness.
After escaping, Violet is rescued by a pack of very handsome alphas: Atlas, the steady pack leader; Gideon, his sassy chosen omega; Finn, the flirty playboy; and Ryker, whose grief and rage made him the standout character for me.
My favorite part of the book was the conflict surrounding Atlas having both a chosen mate and a fated mate. I genuinely had no idea how Ari Wright was going to resolve it. Would Atlas reject his fated mate to stay with Gideon? Would Gideon be pushed out of the pack? Would Finn and Ryker stay with Atlas or follow Violet? The uncertainty kept me invested because I wanted everyone to get their happily ever after.
I also appreciated that every member of the pack felt like a fully realized character with their own distinct personality and painful backstory. No one has had an easy life, which made it impossible not to root for them. Ryker especially stole my heart. After being tortured and rendered mute by his inner alpha, he embarked on a journey I found myself most emotionally invested in.
This is the third book in Ari Wright's Royalverse, but it works perfectly well as a standalone. That said, Violet is Briar's sister from the previous book, so I think reading the series in order would make some of the emotional beats hit even harder.
