A slower paced why choose

I love a Why Choose and dark romance, so I thought I would love this book. It was a nice read, slower paced than what I thought it would.

I enjoyed each character. Because of the different POV, I could really get in each of their minds, understand their hesitation, and understand their internal conflicts as well as their hunger for more. The book explores each character’s mind in depth, giving us a front-row seat to every single thought inside their psyche.

It also felt like some characters were truly omniscient, especially Lucien. Somehow he was able to even read people’s minds and guess what happens behind closed doors in more detail than should be possible.

As I finished the book, I was a bit disappointed because there were a few plot points that remained unresolved: Jax’s tormentors, the whole situation at the end.
This is not an HEA but an HFN (Happy For Now).

Small note: I noticed a few technological anachronisms and timeline hiccups, since the book was supposed to take place in 2017 but was changed to the early 90s. The author was adorable and understanding when I contacted her about them, and she swiftly corrected them after I asked questions.
