This is a superb take on the "Little Red Riding Hood" story. I really enjoyed it. It is a quick, fast-paced read.

We have three main characters: Scarlett, Conall and Hunter. Scarlett comes home after going to town to sell hr salves and tinctures, her mom calls her into the kitchen. She is then told by her step-father she has been betrothed to this guy, the richest in town, or can't live under their roof anymore. As any self respecting woman would do she left, and went to her grandma's house.

As she's walking to grandma's, late at night, she stops to pick some moon lilies in the light of the full moon. A Lycan, Conall, scents her as his mate and goes to find her. He's in his wolf form and he drags her to his home by her red cloak.

This close to her, I can smell the complex layers of her scent. There’s honey, but also vanilla, the spice of cinnamon and ginger, all mixed with the warmth of cardamom and nutmeg. She smells like dessert.

The next day Hunter, the woodsman, comes by to see Conall and share a lunch of fish. He convinces him to let her go. Scarlett hasn't had any good examples of how a man should behave and care for some one he says he loves. Because of this she wants nothing to do with marriage or mates. Hunter and Conall, slowly and with spice, change her mind.

There's some action and killing thrown in to save her as well. Anyway, it's a great story, all three find the love and companionship they didn't want but needed.
