This was a second chance romance that had my heart so invested it was hard to breathe through the story! An epic continuation in the Moretti Men series that had me turning pages for hours!! I was so ecstatic for this story since reading Hunter's Keep. This story follows Elio (D'Angelo's Twin Brother) whom they thought had died many years back. Elio has found his way back home, but then finds out that the woman he once knew and loved is now betrothed to another man as an arranged marriage to satisfy a combining of 2 mafia families. Elio isn't the same man he was and instead of his payback he now wonders how he can let the woman he loves marry another, so what does he do? He does what any man in love does, he kidnaps her on her wedding day. Isa is arranged to marry not for love but for family, she hasn't had any relationships and didn't find having them of any interest to her. When Elio finds her, she thinks it's her dear friend D'Angelo, who tells her she's in danger and needs to leave with him right away. She doesn't hesitate because she trusts D and he would help keep her safe if something was wrong. As she is whisked away, a stunning revelation comes to light and she is now face to face with Elio and not D'Angelo like she thought. She is shocked and is unsure why he's taking her. What they go through to find their way back will keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat.
I absolutely loved the nod to The Princess Bride with the nickname Buttercup and the whimsy lines and moments weaved into the story throughout. Jill did an amazing job concluding D'Angelo and Elio's story and finding a way for Elio and Isa to have their HEA. During this story you get so much suspense, mystery, action moments and a ton of spice! But what really drew me in was the history and the finding their way back to each other. Pure love can always reconnect and find you have more in common that you thought possible. I loved this second chance romance, and can't wait for others to find and read it too.
