Wow. Speechless. Where do I even start? With a slap to the face, Aria Ashbrook? Or a gentle kiss? Because how dare you.. for doing this to me? This journey has been incredible. From start to finish. Book three was everything i'd hoped, and this series still improves with every release, considering every book has been a 5 star read for me, thats quite a feat!
I have so many feelings. Anxiety from that ending.. yes. But also happiness and sadness and so many other things. Its so rare to read a book that inspires so much feeling. When you get done with it and just want to stare at a wall and think of nothing else. It brings such visceral feelings to the surface. Sadness, shock, & I even had goosebumps. I feel so connected to these characters and this story. Once again, Aria Ashbrook drew me right back to this world so seamlessly. They have such a way with weaving a story together that I truly enjoy.
If book two was the journey of figuring out what questions we need to ask, book three is the journey of finally getting those answers. We start pretty much right where we left off (right after a massive cliffhanger), and thats with a bang. Rose uncovers so much of her past but we discover there's so much more to it than she ever imagined. Not only has this been a perilous journey full of twists and turns physically, but also emotionally. The stakes are super high. I was on my toes the entire time.
The found family is magnificent. Theres deep friendship and a fierce familial protectiveness that I relate to so much. So many endearing and heartbreaking moments. Nothing about this story fell flat for me, especially with the character development.
The world-building, as always, is top tier. Aria has such a way with writing that you almost feel dropped right in. This world feels lived in. The magic system and hows its woven into the lore and heritage of the characters is so interesting, too. All I know is that im now a fan for life. And after that cliffhanger, im gnawing at the bars of my enclosure for book four!!
