Another fantastic collaboration between E.M. Lindsey and Cora Rose. I love that they named the series Murder Hearts and fully committed to wandering down the dark alley of dark romance this time around. Seriously, is there any corner of the MM genre they can't write?
I instantly fell in love with Denver. A deaf drag performer being stalked by two men—one for nefarious reasons and one for... considerably sexier ones? YES, PLEASE. I love that he isn't a meek damsel in distress. Even when he's in danger, he fights back. Denver may believe he's too much, but I thought he was exactly right.
And Archie? I absolutely fell for the obsessive hero. His autism means he's often misunderstood, but beneath his blunt exterior is someone fiercely devoted to the people he loves. Does he occasionally kill people to keep those closest to him safe? Sure. Did that somehow make me love him more? Also yes. What really melted me, though, was the way he cared for Denver. He wants to protect him, but he also recognizes that Denver is capable of protecting himself. That balance made their relationship feel especially satisfying.
I'm also completely intrigued by Archie's family. They're fiercely protective of one another, and I loved how quickly they accepted Denver once they realized how much he meant to Archie. And grumpy Milo owning a cat café? That's hilarious. I already know I'm going to eat up every second of his internal monologue.
And that epilogue... What a way to set up the next book. I don't know how I'm supposed to wait that long to get Milo's story.
