No matter how many WW I or WW II era books I read, whether fiction or nonfiction, I am never not saddened by the way people treat each other. It doesn’t matter if we’re talking about atrocities that start the rumblings of war, how friends turn upon friends, families turn upon families, and people are torn apart from the ones they love. It all just hurts my heart.
Reading Lizzie Miller’s War was no different. I loved being able to read Ralf’s and Lizzie’s letters to each other when they were apart. They were so sweet with each other. It’s a love story between 2 young people who you just hope make it through. And I absolutely loved it!
