Cybil was hired as the executive assistant as a plant to get close to a powerful possibly arms smuggling man, and when she's at a gala trying to break into the meeting room and plant her lipstick recorder, the last person she expected to get in her way was Bennett Bradley, her cousin's best friend and childhood love. And while they may have history, a lot has happened in the time they've been apart, which only proves to be even more true when she realizes he's going by a different name and getting in the middle of her mission. Ben, on the other hand, is also undercover with the FBI circling the same dangerous people.
I thought this would be a fun one since they were both undercover/playing as spies without the other really knowing what their motive was, but it just missed the mark for me. Sometimes with low/no spice romances, I feel like they have to really lean into the story to build the banter and chemistry, and while there was banter, everything else was just lacking for me. I did the audio for this one and had I been eyeball reading it, I probably would've DNF'd because I was bored.
