Book: A Lie So Pretty and Poisonous by Leah Bronwyn

Holy Moly - this book is EVERYTHING. As a mom, I resonated very closely with Rory/FMC and her protective maternal instincts. Add in that the characters are over 30, there is societal oppression, crazy religion, a fresh magic system, forced proximity, and the most delicious slooooooow burn imaginable, and you have the formula for such a memorable book. I finished this book a few days ago and just had to sit with my feelings for a bit - the female rage, protective mother, and grief that weave their way through the book are so relatable that it is hard to not see parts of myself in the FMC. Rarely do I find a character I can connect with so well, but I can’t get this one out of my head and I am dying over that ending...
Leah Bronwyn - this is an amazing debut novel and you deserve to be praised for it. 10/10 recommend to everyone.
