I fell for Duke almost immediately. He is the quintessential gentleman cowboy — strong, independent, polite, respectful, intelligent, and effortlessly charming. And somehow he becomes even hotter once he learns he’s going to be a father: making Wheeler feel beautiful even through morning sickness, defending her against the awful men in her family (money clearly can’t buy class), and, most importantly, becoming her friend.
And Wheeler? She might be my new best-girl crush. She’s spunky, driven, and deserving of so much more than the hand her family dealt her. I loved that she chose to follow her heart and build a business rather than become a lawyer to meet their expectations. Such a boss move.
I’m looking forward to Ryder’s book so hard. The man delivered some top-tier wisdom here, and he deserves every ounce of love headed his way.
