I listened to this book withough having read books 1 and 2 - but these are supposed to be standalones.
Thank you to the author for the gifted copy of this audiobook. This review reflects my honest opinons.
What I Loved:
Dragon shifter
Witch prophesied to save the world
Touch starved MMC
Comfort/healing
Fated mates
Dual POV
What I had a hard time with:
When in time is this story happening? Dragon shifters and women living alone in cabins gives a non-modern vibe but then they drive cars and other little modern touches that seem at odds with the rest of the story.
I kind of hate when people say the writing is more telling than showing, but I do think that's what's happening here. It does make it a little harder to feel immersed in the story.
The FMC seems young and a tad naive. At times this seems to be genuinely her personality and at other times it feels kitchy.
