A fun read

Book: Nemesis Mine: A Romance of Nemeses to Lovers – A Wickedly Funny Cozy Fantasy Where Fake Rivalry Sparks Real M/M Romance by Amy Archer

This book was surprising. I didn't know what to expect, just that I knew it would be fantasy and MM romance.

Firstly, the world is very stereotypical, with hints of modernity. You have champions and wrongdoers (heroes and villains); each has their own towns and their turf, and they fight. Champions get sponsorship like athletes and influencers; it's almost funny.

But it's also quite dark, as killing other people is talked about as just another task to cross off the list.

The whole book is a fun read; it's silly and full of clichés, and it's mostly light-hearted, yet occasionally just a bit darker and deeper.

The romance takes a big place in the story, more than the actual small plot.

I genuinely enjoyed reading this book. It kept me up late, swooning not at the grand gestures of love, but at the small, everyday things between them.
