A fantastic instalment to the series

Foundling is the 6th instalment of the Monstrous World series by S.E. Wendel, which is one of my all time favourite monster romance series.

This story features Leita, a fae who was sent into hiding in her youth as the former Queen sought to destroy anyone from her family line to avoid giving up her crown. But with the Queen now gone, Leita desperately needs to rekindle her connection to the magic of the faelands.

Attalus is a shifter, son of the King of dragons and when he is accused of attempting to kill his father finds himself on the run from a band of dragons hunting him down.

When these two meet there is immediate connection, but also the most enjoyable banter and sass. Leita is strong willed and feisty, Attalus is confident, sometimes cocky and most definitely falls first and hard. Both utterly charming and irresistible and willing to go to the ends of the world for each other. But it's not all easy romance, there are political maneuvers in play and danger to Leita's people.

The overarching story from the Monstrous World series continues on from Faeling, and it's always lovely to revisit this world and the characters and learn a little bit more each time. It's impossible to choose a favourite from the series because each book is fantastic, but I will save a special spot for these two who went through so much.
