A Dark Fantasy That Left Me Wanting More

Book: The Witch of Hollowfen: A short dark romantasy novella by Matt Mememaro

I really enjoyed The Witch of Hollowfen . It is a short, dark and spicy fantasy read, but it still gives you a creepy forest, magic, danger and Salazar, who added so much to the atmosphere. Hollowfen feels like the kind of place where you know something is wrong the moment you step into it, and I liked that feeling throughout the story.
Broderick enters the forest hoping to find help for someone he loves, only to meet Heidi and realize that nothing about Hollowfen is simple. She brings a mysterious and darker energy to the story, while Broderick is trying to stay focused on why he came there in the first place. Even with the story being short, it was entertaining and gave me enough to want to see where everything was going.
The ending left me with so many questions, not because I disliked it, but because it feels like there could be much more to this world and these characters. I really hope this is the beginning of a bigger story one day because I would love to know what happens next.
