Book: Wicked Auction: A Dark Enemies to Lovers Irish Mafia Romance (The McCarthy Family Legacy) by Jane Henry

Rating: 4.5/5
A recently released Irish mafia ex-con, Torin McCarthy is pushed into an auction to buy the woman previously promised to marry his cousin. While he's there to try to protect her, Valentina Esposito has no idea who this man is, if he can be trusted, and is forced to dig through the multiple versions of the truth she's been fed from different people to try to survive the hellish hand she's been dealt.
While Torin looks like the men that kept her captive, he's surprisingly gentle with her and it throws her for a loop. Because the men that had her? They said they were McCarthys, something Torin is adamant is untrue.
There's just something about this series that keeps me coming back for more. The audiobooks seem to get better and better, and Valentina and Torin's story had me hooked. I seriously blew through this one in just over 24 hours, it was that good!
Sometimes with mafia romances, the tropes and storylines in a series can get tired, but that has not been an issue once in this series. Jane Henry writes both the MMCs and FMCs so starkly different, they really feel like real people you could run into on the street.

Same narrators for the entire series, but they do such a great job.
