Mortdale was an unexpected and pure unadulterated fun.
The HUMOR. Oh my gosh, the humor in this is freaking everything. It’s both on the nose and also subtle, just absolutely delightful.
Willow and Logan have this dynamic that I couldn’t get enough of. She is weird in the most wonderful of ways and he is brooding, slightly overbearing, and wildly accepting of all of her.
The murder mystery added a fun spooky element, and while it was certainly a major plot point, the relationship was the focal point for me and I loved it.
Every character had a role to play and every character had something about them I couldn’t get enough of.
I thought there were some parts that felt a little disconnected and I had to reread to make sense of, but overall, such a wonderful read.
-vampire x witch
-gothic romantasy
-arranged marriage
-murder mystery
-she sees ghosts
-women in stem
-paranormal rivalries
-whimsical humor
Highly recommend. Thank you so much to Wendy Heiss for this ARC, all opinions are my own!
