Oh my goodness! I had to sit with this one for a little while. The emotions that came up from the story were a bit much for a minute. With that being said, it is a beautiful, moving story of the friendship between an elderly woman named Sarah, a girl (maybe early teens?) named Skye, and a older stray cat named Eshin. I loved that even Eshin’s point-of-view was recorded as part of the story which could have been corny or wrong, but with the way it was written, it was like it was just a natural part of the whole thing. Much of the story focused on Sarah’s journey with Buddhism and Skye’s questions about the practice. I thought the whole book was nicely done and enjoyed the friendship between these 3 unlikely friends.
