What a sweet and cozy romantasy novella! Veterinarian Micah has quietly crushed on half-giant blacksmith Lucan from afar, until the discovery of a baby dragon finally brings them together.
Micah is such a sweetheart with a heart of gold. I love that he advocates for dragon rights, even going up against the king when necessary. He's also adorably clumsy, constantly tripping over his own feet whenever Lucan is around. But most importantly, he makes Lucan feel wanted and loved.
And Lucan? Equally as sweet with Micah. Giants get a bad rap, believed to be good for nothing but manual labor and violence. But while Lucan is fiercely protective of Micah and baby dragon Maple, he's also incredibly gentle. I ATE UP every moment he carried Micah. And the way he makes Micah feel beautiful and desired? SO SWOONY.
The world-building was really well done. Despite the shorter length, I still got a real sense of the characters and setting. A fantastic, quick read!
