⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 Stars
Blood of Truth and Traitors took me a little while to fully sink into, but once it grabbed me, it would not let go.
The first 50% is definitely on the slower side. I found myself wanting things to move faster, but by the end it became clear that every detail, conversation, and seemingly small moment was laying the groundwork for what was coming. The payoff was absolutely worth it.
The final 25% was pure chaos in the best possible way. Emotional damage? Check. Betrayals? Check. Secrets revealed? Check. Massive plot twists that had me questioning everything? Absolutely. Just when I thought I knew where the story was headed, another reveal sent everything in a completely different direction.
One of my favorite aspects of this book was the character development. Not only do the main characters experience significant growth, but the side characters are given depth and purpose as well. The found family dynamics were especially well done and added so much heart to the story. The relationships felt genuine, making both the victories and the heartbreak hit even harder.
As for the romance and spice, I'd rate it around 🌶️🌶️/5. There aren't many spicy scenes, but the ones that are included feel intentional, well-written, and fit naturally within the story rather than existing solely for shock value.
Overall, while the pacing may feel slow at first, it's a book that rewards your patience with an incredibly eventful second half, strong character development, found family moments, shocking twists, and an ending that left me desperately needing the next book.
Now excuse me while I recover from that cliffhanger. 😭📖💀
