I deliberately went into this book completely blind. I'd read the tropes and nothing else, and honestly, I'm so glad I did!
This was such a refreshing read: fast-paced, magical, whimsical, and, of course, deliciously spicy because it's an Alexandra Ravensbrook novel. 🌶️
Our FMC is a grumpy journalist who hates Christmas, carries her own trauma, and finds herself on the receiving end of some seriously unfortunate treatment after turning down her editor's advances. But when bad luck leads her to a ridiculously hot, clipped, and isolated lumberjack, things start to take a very unexpected turn. And these two are exactly what the other needs. 👀
And that plot twist? MAGICAL. ✨ I genuinely didn't see it coming, and it made an already fun read even more delightful. I love when a book manages to surprise me like that!
If you're looking for something with a little Christmas magic, a grumpy FMC, a very hot lumberjack, plenty of spice, and a twist you won't see coming, this one deserves a spot on your TBR.
The perfect book to curl up with on a cold, dreary winter's evening, wrapped in a blanket by the fire with a glass of mulled wine. 🍷🎄🖤
