Book: Strangeling by Kira Hagen

I was confused a few times, but that seems pretty normal in a first book in a series with new characters, races (species?), and unfamiliar places. I also found that the different pov characters didn’t have that much of a distinct voice early on, which threw me off a little until I had a better grip on who each of them would be interacting with normally. I think it’ll be easier on re-read, and I’m definitely interested enough to keep going with the series! There are some quietly devastating moments/memories/details, but overall I think there’s a hopeful bent to the story - hope that the people fighting for good can overcome.
