Etched in Midnight

People always say there’s a moment that changed your life. I always thought that wasn’t true until I found myself face to face with a demon.
In my defense, the ritual shouldn’t have worked. It was just supposed to be a bit of harmless fun. I mean, it was Halloween, my friends were over, we found the grimoire I got on our trip to New Orleans.
So, imagine my surprise when he appeared.
Turns out the only reason the summoning circle worked is because I’m a witch and I didn’t just summon some demon into a regular bargain but a blood pact that ties our lives together until it’s resolved. And he's not just some demon but the general of the ninth circle of hell. Oh, and that grimoire? It’s not just some old book but an ancient text that has chosen me to be its new owner – and it won’t take no for an answer. Did I mention it also happens to have some cult after it and every supernatural that wants the spells it contains and the magical power boost it gives? Too bad their only common ground is that they want me dead.
Now I just have to learn how to navigate this crazy magical world full of all the myths I thought were fake, magical night markets, blood pacts, and God knows what else, a demon general who is not happy to be here, and somehow managed to land the role of my fiancé. Which means we're also stuck dealing with my late mother’s meddling friend who is planning my wedding to Valas (don’t ask).
